Tap Into the Benefts of Steam when you want to Treat a Sore Throat Emanating from a Cough

A repeated coughing session is going to be quite a bother unless you figure out a way out. Go for natural methods because this is the only way you can be sure of getting a comprehensive treatment, and that too, without any side-effects. Whether it is a cold, a cough or even a congestion that is to be tackled, Mother Nature has a remedy for everything.

There are only a few people who can understand the benefits of steam when it comes to treating a bad cough. Those who have already tried out this method are sure to agree when it is said that steam works to makes the bond between the phlegm and the mucous membrane. This happens almost immediately after you expose your throat to steam.

Exposing the throat to steam is going to replenish many of the essential oils that are lost from the throat when you cough. Moreover, you get the added benefit of these oils like you can enjoy their anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties as well.

To begin with, you are going to need a few drops of tea-tree oil, a few drops of eucalyptus oil, some water, and a towel. Boil some water, and let it cool for about half a minute. Add all the oils you have collected. Be sure to stir the mixture well while it is boiling. This is going to ensure all vapors have found their way out.

Inhale the fumes emanating from the bowl. Cover your head with a towel to make sure none of the vapors is lost to the air. Repeat this at least 2-3 times a day for the best results. The gargling should be done for 5-10 minutes each time.
